Overview
Located approximately 10 miles west of Birmingham, Ala., Fairfield Works is comprised of both steelmaking and finishing facilities, making it one of five integrated steelmaking facilities U. S. Steel operates in the United States.
Sheet products and tubular products are manufactured at Fairfield Works. Hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized sheet products are produced for customers in the metal building components, automotive and appliance industries. At the seamless pipe mill, tubular products ranging from 4.5 to 9.875 inches outside diameter are manufactured for the oil country tubular goods markets.
